WP Shortcode Inventory
Find saved shortcode candidates before changing a plugin. WP Shortcode Inventory gives WordPress administrators a focused, read-only review of shortcode names and counts in saved posts and pages.

A practical review, without running shortcodes. Open Tools > Shortcode Inventory, review five items at a time, and filter by an exact shortcode name. Each row shows saved matches and whether that name is registered in the current admin request. Follow the edit link to investigate a source you can edit.
Private attributes stay out of the report. The inventory does not expose shortcode attributes or content excerpts, execute shortcode callbacks, alter posts, store scan results or make scanner network requests. Administrators must also have permission to edit each source. Freemius handles licensing separately.
Know the coverage before acting. Saved-text matches can include examples, comments or HTML attributes and are not proof of runtime usage. Registration can differ between requests. Nested shortcode bodies are not expanded; templates, widgets and custom post types are outside scope. Supported names start with an ASCII letter and contain up to 64 letters, digits, underscores or hyphens. Each item is limited to 200 KB, 50 distinct names and 100 matches. Filtering applies within each batch. Partial results and zero matches do not prove a provider is safe to remove.
Use staging for the final decision. Review rendered pages and test the affected plugin on staging before changing your live site. This is an inventory aid, not a removal tool or a complete dependency audit.

From download to your first shortcode review
- Download your plugin ZIP through Freemius.
- In WordPress, choose Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, then install and activate.
- Activate your Pro license.
- Open Tools > Shortcode Inventory. Review candidates and continue through batches. Filter by an exact shortcode name when needed.
